Hi,

I am Vignesh from Coimbatore.

I have to send the data to HTTP server at interval of 1 Seconds. I had used SIM900 module for this purpose.
But, it doesn't work. Therefore, I am wandering for new device, which can send the datum seamlessly to the HTTP server.

I have also found SIM5215 module in SIMCOM site. It has GSM/EDGE/WCDMA & HSDPA features.

I wish to know, Will it suit for my need?

Can anyone reply in this regard will be great helpful to me.

Thanks in advance.

What doesn't work? SIM900 supports GPRS uplink up to 42 kbps. Is it a problem of insufficient SIM900 data throughput or limited speed of your GSM network?

It sends the data to HTTP server successfully, but the connection is closing at each packet is transmitted. So, I have to re-connect the server at every packets. For re-connecting and sending the new packet, SIM900 module takes hardly 3 sec. Sometimes, it is more than 3 sec.

I am using unlimited GPRS enabled SIM.

Hope you got my points.

I think that 100% sending data at 1s isn't possible over GPRS and not over HSDPA ...... Yes speed is high but not allways!

You must search for AT commands in user manual for permenently gprs connection! If you attach code maybe someone can help you!

Pl. suggest me, which device will be appropriate for this purpose. SIMCOM or TELIT....

I think one and another is OK! But you must tutor both.....
some usefull links:

SIMCOM gprs example wit source:
**broken link removed**

and you can try with very good tool with simcom modems:
https://m2msupport.net/m2msupport/tutorial-for-simcom-m2m-modules/
YOU CAN USE EXAMPLE SCRIPTS OR MAKE YOUR SCRIPT TO TEST YOUR HW CONNECTED MODEM!

and telit devices:

and one of usefull link about REST commands: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE

Thanks JS & FvM,

I would like to know the following things too.

1. Will SIM5215(with EDGE/HSDPA) be the better option than SIM900(without EDGE/HSDPA) for Vehicle Tracking purpose?

2. I have used the normal wire as an antenna. Should I use any antenna matching circuitry for it?

When I Query the Signal strength (using AT+CSQ command), it replies excellent.
