I am doing my BE Engg project.

Name: "HOME AUTOMATION & POWER MANAGEMENT"

I want calculate the power used by each appliance in ON state. so that we can monitor power used in home. and I can draw it in MATLAB.

I am using ATMega32 MCU in my project to switch ON/OFF each appliance.

I think i have to calculate the current consumption by appliance.
but i don't know how to do it.

if any one tried this please help.

Thank you.

I think Hall sensors are used to only measure the DC current, not AC current. ????????//
