Can read the RTC values !

help needed

i cant able to read the rtc values, iam using 16f877 and working with hitech c.
interfacing with ds1307.

i have writtern the data to the rtc but when iam reading the data the controller is showing the same value '1' and nothing else.
kindly help me in overcoming my difficulty

This is what I can suggest, go download Proteus VSM, and test your software with it.

As far as i can remember the DS1307 have a lock bit who disable the function of the RTCcheck it

Also check the 32KHZ osc with scop to see whether the RTC is running
