[SOLVED] Why snubber circuit is used at output of a relay switch?

I found that a snubber circuit is used at output of a relay switch.
Here snubber circuit as shunt at o/p which is combination of a "Resistor and Capacitor"

resistor and capacitor combination is used to quench the spark,it is a spark quenching arrangement,if the same is not used the contact/contacts of a relay may get spark and burn.regards
 

In other words- You can not suddenly interrupt current from inductive circuit, if this the case then you should provide alternate path to current and snubber does precisely the same.
 
The reason why snubber network is placed at the output of a relay is to suppress transient. In other word, it is to protect the circuit from sudden changes in voltage (dV/dt). It is worth noting that the type of transient that the snubber is effectively working against is initiation transient.
Initiation transients are produced when a circuit is originally dead is energized suddenly and very fast (the switching of the relay).
