The .Net micro framework is created by microsoft for embedded systems. I came across a book on it a long time ago when I was at the university and it looked quite interesting. One can write quite high level code making many tasks so easy.

The perplexing thing is the apparent absence of .Net framework in the Embedded systems world. People talk of different uP and uC and RTOSs and things like TCP/IP and how to make robots e.t.c but I don't see anyone talking about .Net micro framework. Is there something wrong with it that it has not become popular? I have not seen anyone looking for someone who knows .Net micro for work as Embedded systems engineer also.
