Re: robotics forum

It is clear that robot design is complex. For exampe in biped robots you must consider no only the size, weigh and motors, but also the mechanical structure (usually done with special alloys) and mechanical transmission. There are some laboratories that are making some research in new kinds of mechanical transmission for robot motors in Canada, USA, Japan and Europe. These new transmissions have a lighter design, are highly efficient and have small backlashess.

Re: robotics forum

building human like robots is complex, and require huge investments in R&D and not a chids play. such kind of robots need a combination of mechanics, kinematics, electronics, firmware, motors and sensory. only large corporations and military can afford such kind of costs.

even one protype cost runs into millions of dollars and required many years of continuous development. lot of prototypes need to be build like the honda humnoid robot asimo
