interface lcd with Pic16f877a using breadboard

hello i am a beginner and learner of embedded system programmming . i have used PIC 16F877A mcu(attached with developement board) to learn . I just try to interface with lcd, i have afraid to power up because lcd alone need power supply , can anyone tell me how to give power supply to LCD in breadboard

Post your lcd datasheet and schematic diagram..

If you are 2x16 lcd see the given attachment.

just connect pin1 to GND and pin2 to VCC (5V)
