Please could any one help , i just installed cadence ice5 on Ubuntu 11.10 , but i have a problem ... Whenever a dialog box opens ( as the "setup outputs" box) , the mouse clicks on the buttons in that box doesn't work .. For example if i press "open" to open the calculator it doesn't respond , however the there is a response from the keyboard (if i pressed enter , the " OK " button is pressed and the box is closed) .... ANY HELP ?

Does it appear any error message in CIW or in terminal ?

Thinking maybe you want a different window manager
(Gnome is what I use) or are missing one of the libs
that the window widgets require (TCL/TK? I dunno).

I suspect that you could find, in Cadence's application
support pile, info on package requirements and X.

As a rule I find that Cadence likes primitive, older
window managers better because its roots are very
old now, as well. The newer ones seemed to cause
more flakiness, when we tried them out.

Thanks so much guys for the replies ,, i solved the problem by installing the Ubuntu updates .. It seems it was an Ubuntu problem not cadence .. Thanks again
