Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what chip resistors and chip capacitors are ? What are they made of and what is the design formulae for them ? Is it possible to model them in CST - MWS or HFSS ? Thanks for your time

These are surface mount parts especially designed for RF use. They are sometimes in nonstandard sizes. They work at higher frequencies and power levels than standard surface mount parts. The capacitors are frequently of porcelain dielectric.

and also you can try to search laminated passive resistor, capacitor and inductor, etc.

Best Regards,

how to use chip resistor in hfss

Hi,

as far as I know do both programs support "lumped elements like Ls, Cs and Rs. (CST for sure....) Just place a lumped element at the position of your chip resistor. This should do it..
