how can i make ac to dc smps (switch mode power supply) of AC input of 5v-20v to DC12v output.? please reply

Just rectify the AC to DC and then use a buck-boost converter with feedback to keep the output 12V regulated under varying line and load conditions.
 

thanks,ac to dc is done by regulated dc power supply..but after that what type of real buckboost circuit with diagram will use here ???
 

Hi birenparekh,
In SMPS raw dc is used as input not regulated power supply. the dc is directly given to the buckboost switching regulator. Hope you found this usefull if so click the helpedme button below.
