    500W or 1kW Inverter design

Hi..I want the circuit diagram for designing 500W or 1kW inverter with transformer (12V to 220V).
    Thanks in advance..

You can use www.google.com for searching.

Re: 500W or 1kW Inverter design

Better he use www.edaboard.com search field there is tons of posts and threads about that topic.

By the way, what battery or battery bank you have ?

Do we know that for 1000W at 12V amperage will be 84A theoretically in practice even more.

Lets say 500W at 12V thats it theoretically 42A.
Battery is 55Ah capacity and Lead Acid Starter as type.
    That is 55Ah/42A C/1,32 !!!!

Lead Acid capacity is declared from manufacturer and its based on C/10. That means current for 10h discharge time. And in this case we discharge C/1,32 with other words you cant get declared capacity of battery, capacity is lots lots lower in this case. Peukert's law describe that. Battery is chemical factory and time is need to achieve maximum production and this is discharge in range of C/10h.

Starter batteries are float battery max to 30%-35% of discharge no more, this will guarantee long life. That means that you can use them, but you must properly calc needed battery bank, and make proper design of recharging.

12V system is for up to 500W, and its no good for stronger power, because high amperage, and there is no various possibilities for paralleling batteries. Often two batteries are used in parallel no more, but in serie can be more to achieve higher voltage. At paralleling there is lots of problems, this can be solved with smart equilizers and other equipments, but price of whole system will rise.

    +

Starter batteries are completely discharged at 11,9V and deep cycle batteries can go to 10,5V. If you go with starter to 10,5V you will kill battery.

    ....

If you want to make good inverter dont use commercial UPS for that purpose (there is many reasons why), use toroidal core for transformer if you go to standard design.

You can read other threads there is lots of circuits and text on that problematic.

I think better he do it by himself .... Future engineer must use his own brain....

    Thanks in advance..
Use a PWM chip such as SG3525. Use MOSFETs for driving the transformer. Use feedback to achieve voltage regulation with variations in battery voltage and load. That's the inverter there. Now you just need to add additional features such as low-battery cut-off, overload protection, over-temperature protection and charger (if required). This should be enough to start you up. Look at various designs and apply what you learn.

    Hope this helps.
    Tahmid.
