How can we call "positive hot" and "negative cold" output of a microphone?

How can we call " positive hot" and "negative cold" output of a Microphone . Since microphone output is analog signal how can we specify polarity. Please help me to study about microphone output signal

What kind of microphone are you talking about?

There are two possible meanings of polarity:
- DC supply polarity of an electrete microphone
- polarity of the acoustic signal. "Red" or "hot" is usually referring to positive sound pressure.
