It is a two-channel guitar amplifier Red Baron and 1x12' speaker on Celestion G12-65 converter.

Chassis was made of gilded 1m aluminum angle 30x30 cut into halves and lateral angles 40x10. The design of chassis was prepared in CAD, then aluminum was cut properly and part of the project was moved to the front panel.

After making some holes, you can create a skeleton of chassis:

Then the rest of the design should be moved to the surface of chassis.

After cutting the surface and preparing all the necessary holes, it was riveted to the skeleton. The chassis should look like in the following picture:

Descriptions on the front panel were printed on a self-adhesive foil using a laser printer. After that, necessary holes were made.

Project:

When the stickers were on, components like potentiometers, switches, jacks were placed. Then it was time to add bases, transformers and filtering capacitors.

Power transformer is 40W toroid 250V/6,3V, speakers transformer is ZATRA TG 3,5-15-666.

Then the electronics was made. Supply block was soldered, glow added and then the other elements. Original schematic is shown below:

After first start, you may need to make some amendments.

Pictures:

Housing was designed in CAD and made of chipboard. Aluminum pipes were used for the front grid, their ends were threaded.

You should add angles, feet and handles.

The design of speaker was inspired by Marshall 1x12'. Its housing also uses chipboard.

The rear wall was divided in 2/3 – 1/3 is unscrewed, so the whole device can be used as open or closed.

Then everything was covered with artificial leather. In the end., it is time to screw the angles and handles.

The final effect:

Elements you need:
  • aluminum
  • transformer
  • bases
  • tubes – 3x 6n2p + EL84
  • speaker transformer
  • potentiometer
  • switches
  • sockets
  • knobs (aluminum BOSS)
  • chipboard
  • angles
  • handles
  • feet
  • artificial leather
  • glue
  • rivets
  • screws
  • speaker Celestion G12-65
