hi,

we are going to design a front end PFC converter for our UPS application.
We decided to go BOOST converter for our application . the power level of converter is 8KW.....

we have seen ti make UC3854A controller ,but there is no OVP protection in that.. suggest a list of PFC controller (any make),for our application which meets below spec.

power converter = 8kW
switching frequency = 20-50kHz
protections = OVP,OCP
topology = BOOST
MODE =average current control

use Fairchild FAN4810

use Fairchild FAN4810

The first and only PFC controller I've used is the UCC28070, for a couple custom 20KW, variable output PFCs I made. It has a couple fancy features (two interleaved phases, discrete kvff adjustment), but it also fulfills your specs fine. I was actually surprised at how easy it was to get running.

edit: whoops, old thread, whatever
