Substance needed to stick trigger transformer to PCB

Hello,
We have a PCB on which a trigger transformer should sit.
However, it has a high voltage pad which is too close to other pads, therefore, when soldering up the prototypes, we will have to slant the trigger transformer up and only solder the two primary pins, -we will then solder to the high voltage pin with a wire , safe in the knowledge that its far enough away from low voltage pads/tracks.

However, the trigger transformer will not be properly fixed to the board using this method and will likely tear off its pads , since it hangs upside down.

Therefore, we need some blu-tak to go underneath the trigger transformer so as to stick its body to the board . The blu tak will go in the gap that’s made by slanting the body of the trigger transformer.


Anyway, blu-tak will melt away in the environmental oven, so do you know an alternative blu-tak that wont melt at 100 degC?

Basically, all that’s needed is a sticky blobby “blob” that will stick the body of the slanted-up trigger transformer to the PCB board and not melt.

only pins one and two will be soldered, the other two wont be contacting the pcb because the body will be slanted up.

sorry, but then you don't make a good layout. :-(

How high is the high voltage, comming out of the transformer? Normaly the isolation of air is ~3kV/mm. So you can calculate how close the next pad can be.

Hello,

for 6kV the min distance to the next pad will be 2mm. For real good security I would take a distance of min. 5mm. So you can be sure, that there is no flashover if the air will be we humidity.
