Do we know what have 4G and what we must upgrade ?

4G technologies include HSPA+ 21/42, WiMAX, and LTE (although some consider LTE the only true 4G of that bunch, and some people say none of them are fast enough to qualify.)

Very brave step, I must say.

Key ITU requirements for IMT-Advanced that 4G LTE will support include the following3:

- A high degree of common functionality worldwide while retaining the flexibility to support a wide range of local services and applications in a cost-efficient manner
- Compatibility of services within IMT and with fixed networks
- Capability for interworking with other radio systems
- High quality mobile services
- User equipment suitable for worldwide use
- User-friendly applications, services, and equipment
- Worldwide roaming capability
- Enhanced peak data rates to support advanced mobile services and applications (100 Mbps for high mobility and 1 Gbps for low mobility)

Medium Access Control (MAC)
Non-Access-Stratum (NAS) Protocol
Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP)
Radio Link Control (RLC)
Radio Resource Control (RRC)
S1 Application Protocol (S1AP)
S1 layer 1
S1 Signalling Transport
X2 Application Protocol (X2AP)
X2 layer 1
X2 Signalling Transport

my project is about LTE-A and there are lots of references about this subject :)
3 distinguishing features of LTE-A technology consist of Carrier aggregation , Relaying and Comp
