Hello,

Do you agree with me that for a surface mount device such as DPAK FET, the lowest the RthJ-A can be when mounted on around 0.5 inch square of copper, with vias to the bottom copper, is around 40 degreesC/Watt.

It simply cannot get much lower than this, no matter how much extra PCB copper is added

is this true?

....And for a surface mounted DPAK, with no fan in the enclosure containing its PCB, theres no way you can get RthJ-A less than 20 degreeC/Watt

Is this also true?
