How to program the Flash Memory via Jtag solution?

I`me just a beginner!

Hi everyone.

I`ve used to upload Firmwares to STB`s, but sometimes there`s a little problem : The STB Dies!!!

I asked few technicians and they`ve told me that i`ve need to program the Flash Memory via Jtag solution.

But i don`t know how!

Would you help me findig out the propper data base or site or etc.. ?

Does STB mean Set-Top Box?

If so, which Set-Top Box are you talking about?

You can find a lot of info about JTAG if you search this board.
Try to search google too.

Yes, I mean Set-Top_box, And esp. eMtech series (Or STARSAT).

Can you give me a keyword to search that topic?
or, can you help me to learn how to program these flash memories instead?

I`m just a rookie in electronics, but i really love it.

Try to search for JTAG programming + the name of the device you want to program.
