Dear all ,

pls tell me , how to set Color view file in orcad PCB Editor Permanantly.
everytime i make new design i have to keep on setting colors . is there any way to freez color view files?

i hav tried macro recording but did not worked. when i make new design i can get the layer view which i recorded in macro but cant get colors properly. they get shuffeled.

is there any other way?

When you open Color Dialog in top left hand coner there is "File" tab from there you can save and load your color palette.

Dear Rick ,

thanx for reply . the option u gave me is of saving color pallet. i dont want that .

i want to save layer color settings . so that i can use that in my next design.

i tried that. it is useless. it saves color pallet . not the layer color & visibility settings.

Its pretty easy to add the films.

This is what I do:

1. In the menu list go to manufacture - Artwork - Film control (tab)

Top and bottom films will be there defaultly..just right click on that
and add the new film using the names such as assy ,silkscreentop,..etc as u desired.

2. Go to menu - Display - Colour/visiblity

There u just enable the layers which u want to add in the new film.

For eample:

For silk screen top : board geometry/silkscreen top
package geometry/silkscreen top
Components/silkscreen top/ refdes
Board geometry/outline...Etc.

3. Again go to Manufacture - Artwork - Film control (Tab)

There right click on the newly added film and click match display.
Then whcich are all dispalying in the window is set to that corresponding film.

Note : The film name can not contains space.
