Hi

I am trying to design a bandpass filter in matlab,
i have the lower cutoff freq as 100hz and the upper cutoff freq as 200h. I do not know how to calculate the passband and stopband attenuation.
I have chosen use to buttord/butterworth but i dont know how to determine rp and rs.

thanks

i have had a look at them but im not sure how to determine the rp and rs given that i only have the lower and higher cutoff freq. such as,Filter No. Lower Cut-Off
Frequency (Hz) Centre
Frequency (Hz) Upper Cut-Off
Frequency (Hz) Bandwidth (Hz)
1 100 150 200 100
2 200 250 300 100
3 300 350 400 100
4 400 450 510 110
5 510 570 630 120
6 630 700 770 140
7 770 840 920 150
8 920 1000 1080 160
9 1080 1170 1270 190
10 1270 1370 1480 210
11 1480 1600 1720 240
12 1720 1850 2000 280
13 2000 2150 2320 320
14 2320 2500 2700 380
15 2700 2900 3150 450
16 3150 3400 3700 550

Table 1: Frequency bands
I have decided that my sampling fs willl be 8000 as it is an audio speech signal that ill need to decompose into N bandpass filters.
Is there a formula inorder to determine it because i dont know where the freq range and i hve no graph, but since i m using a butterworth ill need minimum ripple.
Do you have some idea as to how to go about it? If so id really appreciate it !!!
thanks :)
