what is the difference b/w fire fighting and fire prevention?are they not same?

i am doing a project regarding fire prevention,while i am going through a paper i find that "fire fighting and fire prevention"
can any one explain what is the difference between them?
 

fire prevention is to stop a fire from occurring; fire fighting is putting out the fire you didn't prevent!
