Hello all

Does anyone know where I can find a LM311 footprint for eagle or a library for that ???

I have moved the thread to a more appropriate forum.

You could use the LM311 in the linear.lbr library.

Keith.

Hello Keith

Thank for advice, but I have found it, that library it was missing for my lib. list but in the end I have found it.
Now I have another problem because I am trying to find a socket for HCPL 7800 so if anyone knows something please let me know !!
Thanks in advance !!!

Hey Keith

I didn't have that library until now, but now I have downloaded it form eagle's home page so I have it but thanks again !!!
It seems that I am missing some of lib. but now I know where I can download them from !!!
Thanks again !!

There should be hundreds of libraries included in the installation - you shouldn't really need to download libraries from Cadsoft except for user provided libraries. I suggest you download & re-install the software.

One other possibility is that the libraries are there, just not where you expect them to be. Try searching you computer for .lbr files to see where they are. You can then add the path in the Eagle control panel. You can have multiple library paths.

Hey
I followed your advice and still nothing, may be my lib. are hidden or they are not installed may be they are not on my version because I am using 5.6 and it's a standard version it's not the professional version, could be that I have to reinstall and see what happens !!!
In any case thanks for your quick answer!!! I hope some day I can come to Yorkshire, UK and give a beer :)

Did you or another user perhaps use "drop" when accessing a library? Here is a discussion of that: **broken link removed**

Edit: Here's a little extra from another forum and an Eagle specialist:

That button does not delete a library. It simply removes it from the active search list. Some users where overwhelmed by the number of libraries or they simply like to just use certain libraries.

That’s what the drop button is for.

You can restore everything by typing Use * followed by enter in the command line. There are GUI mechanisms to do this, but it’s easier to explain the typed method.

I only select a few libraries through the schematic. The rest I get by browsing the Eagle control panel.

If you load Eagle you should get an Eagle control panel plus the schematic and/or board. Look at the control panel and the top item should be "libraries". Expand that and you should see them all. The ones with a green dot will show up on the search in the schematic/board but the rest can still be used without "enabling" them simply by expanding the specific library in the control panel, browsing the parts and double clicking on the item you want.

You could add all the libraries to the search - right click on the library folder in Eagle control panel and click "select all". They will all then have a green dot and show up in a search in the schematic/board. I sometimes do that but as I have three versions of most libraries from old versions of Eagle it can get a little slow and turn up too many choices so I prefer to browse normally.
