I need help with conversion from floating point decimal to binary and viceversa using Verilog HDL, on Xilinx or Altera platform.
I want some suggestions regarding methods or algorithms that could help me with the conversions.
Thanks.

what wrong with the Altera or Xilinx IP cores?
What is floating point decimal?

IEEE 754 Floating point format.
I want to code the conversion from one binary to decimal.

there is no decimal. Do you mean fixed point?
Altera and Xilinx provide IP cores for this.
