Hello,
Can anyone tell me why we need to convert RF to IF(intermediate frequency) in receivers and what is a multibit receiver?

advantage: design freedom. IF with single freq and very small bandwidth . designers can concentrate on gain and other parameters at that single frequency.

otherwise , RF wideband , difficult to have gain and performance matched.
