Good cheap Current Transformer for home Lab?

Can anyone recommend a decent low-cost Current Transformer for home use. Looking for something with bnc voltage output to connect to my Oscilloscope. I guess just AC current would be ok, but if it has DC also that would be great.

So what do you need clearly ? i think your mean by current transformer is the CT that will use for current sensing ? isn't it ?

You could just make your own. Wrap a bunch of wire around an old transformer core. Cost=0. Depends on what you call "decent".

Yes i am looking for a reliable, accurate measurement tool for current in my home lab. Measuring in the range of 0-10A.
 

Ok , is it important that , that element be a CT ? you'll have many easier way to sense current . can you give me more explanation to receive better help ?
 

theres not much else to say really.

Yeh i guess I could just get an accurate low value sense resistor that would do the trick.

But having the isolation of a CT is nice.
 

If the isolation is important to you , you can use some linear opto couplers .such as IL 300 and some simple and low tolerance and with high precision circuits.
