Ideas for final year project

Hi everybody ,

I'm student in computer science MS 2, i'm specialised in java, C and linux application programming and i want to make a project on embedded systems probably with linux ,so i need some modern and interresting ideas on projects in this field.

Embeeded system is very big area you need to converge on some domain...
Some of this domain are -

1) Image / Video Embeeded system application
2) Networking / Communcation Embeeded system application
3) Automation / Sensing / Measurement Embeeded system Application
4) Data Storage Embeeded system Application

I'm interrested in :
Image / Video Embeeded system application
Networking / Communcation Embeeded system application
 

There will be couples of ideas that you can try out-

1) Video distirbution server based on CAS ( conditional access system )
2) Incomming video analysis for encrypted data
3) 2d to 3d video conversion
etc.

For networking there will be various projects also can be thought -
1) Different packet mechansium for secured data trasmittion over lan
2) Fast searching application for pattern matching
etc.
