lumped port in HFSS 9.1

Hi!

I've tried lumped port excitation on microstrip and I'm wondering what kind of port face should I use. I've not found answer from hfss help.

Is that correct to define lumped port face heigth equal to thickness of the substrate and width equal to width of the microstrip? Or should I draw a bigger port face as one should do when using waveports?

Thank you for answers!

Markus

Re: lumped port in HFSS 9.1

Your settings for the dimensions of the lumped port are correct!
The bigger area is important ONLY when you assign a WavePort.
For the waveport, howewer, there are a lot of technical problems, only an experienced HFSS's user can handle correctly with a waveport.
Lumped port is easy and is a good way to feed an antenna or a DUT.
