Hi,
i'm building a serial programmer for my atmega32.here's the link :Part III – Making Programmer and Target. | eXtreme Electronics

its not working with pony prog.i measured the voltage at reset pin which goes to zero when i select the read all option in pony prog.other than that nothing is happening and the device is not at all recognized by it.what should i do?

check out your connections. If you are using usb to serial converter it wont work.

I was actually using an extension cable that I had got with my p89v51rd2 programer.it had only 3 wires connected for serial data and gnd.(the mc had a boot loade).i just checked the connections and found the problem.
