Hi,
Can anyone please tell me what is the design significance of SCR VGRM?

Thanks,
Law

The "gate" is really a BJT base terminal and you can break it
down with enough voltage, with possible destructive current,
or degrade the device with enough persistent voltage stress
(E-B hot carrier). The significance is, "better not", and it's a
design constraint on your trigger circuit.
