What are pro and con of using resistor instead of current source in differential pair of Gilbert-type mixer ?

If you use Resistor, the current won't be constant enough, this will change the OP of the mixer..
Current Mirror is better but it's little bit noisy because it amplifies the noise coming from the reference current source.

So you mean that there would be additional power consumption, especially at large input signal, as i understand. That's not a big penalty.
