i have a project on msp430 variant eZ430-RF2500 ...... can any body help me regarding transmitting and receiving data wirelessly....and if you can point to some internet resource...i will be greatful!

Maybe you can start with a wireless mouse project. Since it is RF and not IR so it will be a good design to implement.
What are peripherals available on your uC? If there is an ADC available on uC then you can create a wireless temperature sensor.
