I have an ACER LCD Monitor, Model P221W, Version P221Wd Monitor.

It works with my PC, but will not work with the 2 (television) Set Top Boxes I have (different brands).

I have tried both the VGA & DVI inputs.

In both cases, the ACER displays a message saying "Input not supported".

However, the Set Top Boxes work with a Chimei Monitor.

Does anyone know how I can solve this please?

Any advice will be appreciated.

I think that's a problem with vertical frequency generated by the setup box.
I suspect that the monitor does not accept the refresh rate.

Try
1. Press the MENU-button to activate the OSD window.
2. Press < or > to select the INFO function.
3. Press the MENU-button (after you have selected the INFO) to show the resolution, H/V frequency and input port of current input timing.

Compare data obtained to the list of resolution accepted (see attached manual).
Check if you can change the frequency or refresh rate of the setup box.

Thanks very much for the reply, the monitor is set for 60 Hertz and 75 kHz.

The Australian standards for analogue TVs are 50 Hz & 15 kHz, I don't know what the digital standards are. I could not see these figures in the ACER mamual.

I cannot find any information in the manuals of the set top boxes on what their V and H frequencies are.

I will have to set them up with the Chimei Monitor and explore the options via their menus.

I'll let you know the outcome.
