1980'S DOD R-908 Trim Pots

1. Firstly, does anyone know or can someone speculate on what the three Trim Pots inside my DOD R-908 Multi Effects Processor adjust.

2. Can i safely adjust them while the unit is operating.

I can provide further info and pics if necessary.
I am very new to the Electronics repair world so be kind, thanks.
