when i insert scan chain , how do i insert a single chain in chip?
I didn't see any material about single chain in document of mentor.

I have think a way to do it:
first , insertion scan chain in chip.
second , set those scan chain as sub scan chain, and connect it use dftadvise.

How do you deal with it?

If it's not auto supported by tool, why not write a script to do that? This task sound not too complex. Synthesis tools is for manipulating netlist, isn't it?

Because between each scan chain , we may need look-up cell to insertion, i want dft tools to do it.

I think you mean "lock-up" cell. You only need to look at the test clocks of last FF of the previous chain and the first FF of next chain. If they are same, no insertion; not, insertion. Several tcl codes. Believe in yourself. All tools are not as good as you.
