(my RS232 voltage levels are +10.2v and -10.2v)
I want to connect my PC serial port (only TxD) to PIC16f877a. But now, i don't have a MAX232 for level conversion. So can i use the below circuit?

Now i read somewhere that RS232 have +ve as logic 1 and -ve as logic 1.
Then, should i invert the signal just before connecting to pic?

the simplest thing is to use a usb to 3.3v serial cable, e.g.
usb ttl serial

your reply is not to my question.
