rtc with trickle charge

Salam,

I want to interface DS1302 to secondry battery to keep the time and date on if the power failed.

I use 3.6V NiCa Rechargable battery.
How can i choose resistor value of the the trickle charge ? what is the maximum charge current?
Do i need any external components for Battery charge?

Thanks
SphinX

trickle charge lithium coin cell

SphinX,

we use hundreds of DS1302 but alwas with a 3V lithium coin battery.

The chip consumes under 1uA when not powered and a standard lithium coin cell should last at least for 10 years.

best regards

trickle charge rtc
