Do you think UCC28061 interleaved PFC IC would be suitable for 50W offline PFC supplies?

(its a boost IC but can be used in flyback also)

The datasheet says 100W to 800W, but i see a great benefit at 50W also....

This is because it allows us to produce a 50W PFC using effectively two 25W (interleaved) supplies.

....and this means that you do not need any heatsink on the mosfets.................................

...unlike the case of a non-interleaved PFC of 50W which would need a heatsink on the FET.

Having to fix heatsinks to FETs is bad news and not something you do if you can find another way.

...this is because lowly payed assembly staff cannot be relied upon to adequately apply thermal paste to the heatsink before assembling it....

....this will result in a power suppy which may well pass through final testing, and then overheat blow up in the field, with the customer.
