How to introduce a keypad for data entry and output the status on a 7 segment display

Duplicate the switches 4 set, you will have your keypad

as well as the led accordingly, then use decoder to decode it to 7 segment ~~

you might want to consider microcontroller, you just need some codes rather than messy hardwares :)
