Does anyone know how to stop the battery light flashing on a dell 1525 inspiron laptop?

Its supposed to flash when the battery is dying but I suspect in this case there
is just a timer causing it as the battery charges and lasts just fine. The timing
of it starting is suspicious too given the (lack) of use it has had.
Their diagnostic also says it is charging fine and is ok. This just seems to be a
bios/timing trigger to me.

Anyway - I'm not interested in buying another battery I just want to stop the
flashing - its very irritating.

Does anyone know how to do this?
I can't find any setting in the bios or on their setup/diag disk.

Jack,

The handbook for your DELL 1525 states:-

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the light operates as follows:
– Solid blue: The battery is charging.
– Flashing blue: The battery is almost fully charged.
– Off: The battery is adequately charged.
If the computer is running on a battery, the light operates as follows:
– Off: The battery is adequately charged (or the computer is turned off).
– Flashing orange: The battery charge is low.
– Solid orange: The battery charge is critically low.

Thanks - yes I know that.

The point is it's flashing and there is no problem with the battery.
This leads me to believe it is programmed to flash after a certain time regardless of battery condition.

The battery is charged and works fine. I just want to know how to stop the
flashing.

I'm reluctant to open it up and just cut the LED out.
