Need Help On 12v 3000W PWM Inverter

I need help on a Inverter as this is my first time I have A 12v DC 3000W Inverter 220v or 240v can I put a Transformer with is less then the 3000VA
say a 1500VA or a 500VA on this Inverter.
 

That would depend on the basis of the ratings, and the
service factor at full load.
 

of course you can. just don't ask your inverter to supply full 3000VA for very long...
