EEG averaging question help?

Hello

I got around 20 control(healthier) people and another 20 patient recoded EEG ,I want to analysis the data and see the difference between the control and patient.

can I just take the average of 20 control people and put it in one averaged EEG signal a and compare the patient side by doing the same method .

or is there anyway to do it ??
