i am working on a project DYNAMIC QUEUE MANAGMENT SYSTEM

this is my engineering final year project..

for that i need to interface printr to my 8051 microcontroller..

any body who knows..plz help..

More information is needed.

What type of printer is this?

What is the printer interface (USB, serial, standard Centronics parallel)?

If the printer 'host-based', meaning that it relies of drivers on the computer-side for processing, then your job is going to be quite difficult.

If you can choose your own printer, find an older dot-matrix type that is NOT host-based. Look at the specifications to make sure that it will work under DOS. These types of printers are dead simple to run from a microcontroller, as all of the processing is done by the printer itself, and you just have to send it ASCII data and twiddle a few control lines.

as u said that it is easy to interface dot matrix printer..
but is it possible to interface a thermal printer to 8051..
because my project demand to print 80-100 words
and it will look good..
plz help..
u recomend me the printer modle..
