Saturation of Inductor Current

Hi,

Whenever a datasheet specs state the IDC of an inductor to be say 1.5A without saturation.

What will happen if the circuit current is more than 1.5A (say 2A) ? Will the inductor get saturated ?

And when the inductor get saturated, what is the electrical characteristic of that saturated inductor ?

The inductance is reduced. The rated current produces about a 1% reduction. Your two amps would probably reduce it by about 10-30% depending upon the core material.
 

when the inductor get saturated it behaves like a short circuit.

you use a oscilloscope to monite current,you can find current rate is larger than no-Saturation
