digital signal with fpga +mayer

Hi I'm new to CPLD and FPGA. I haven't been doing much digital design but would want to learn to program CPLD and FPGA from Altera and Xilinx. Can someone introduce a good book that can guide me to reach my goal. Thanks.

Re: learning CPLD and FPGA

I think you can two book
1. Digital signal with FPGA of PhD R.Mayer
2. Design system using VHDL (I lost the author but you can serch in amazon.com)

Beside, you can search in mcu.cz, this site has some good book for design system by FPGA or VHDL

But I think you must research VHDL carefully. It help you more convenience when you design complex system.

Best regards

Re: learning CPLD and FPGA

...man, I've been a stupid RF/Microwave Engineer for more than 30 years and now at this point of the life I am forced to study this crap FPGA. I can tell you that a very good start point for dumb people like me is this book:

"The Design Warrior's Guide to FPGAs: Devices, Tools, and Flows"

I will see if this book is still available here. If not, I will upload it still today in the proper forum. Stay tuned.

We would appreciate if you could upload the book please.

Thanks a lot and best regards,

also an ex-Rf engineer working now in the digital world.

thanks nandopg, preferably pls upload it to mcu.cz, and mimito, we are in the same boat.

Hi,

"The Design Warrior's Guide to FPGAs by Clive Maxfield"

learning CPLD and FPGA

I think you have to study VHDL before

A good book is
Perry -VHDL - 2nd edition

learning CPLD and FPGA

for syntax and understanding of vhdl refer

vhdl by J Bhaskar

Re: learning CPLD and FPGA

I'm RF engineer also and I must start with VHDL.
Can someone give me some info about graphic LCD
controlled with Xilinx (code examples, project details
will be welcome). I'm interested in 3.5" Colour TFT
controlled with MCU (code examples, project details
will be welcome).

learning CPLD and FPGA

I may introduce u too books !
1. vhdl made easy
2. writing testbenches

Re: learning CPLD and FPGA
