I am going to design a system where 12V DC is converted to 3.7 Volt and then run the system. But when 12V DC is unavailable/temporarily down system goes to stop operation. So I want to use a 3.7V Li-ion battery. To meet my purpose I am looking for such a Battery Charging IC which can simultaneously charge the battery and run the system while 12V is available it and during absence of 12V DC System will run by the battery.
I have found a such IC. MCP73871. But it is so small(SMD). I want DIP/QFP package IC.
