Does anyone have a schematic for control water in-out?

I'm using water solenoid to control the water flow.
i want to use PIC16F877(suggests if got a better PIC and please explain) to control the water flow(not a timer).
Actually i want to make a automatic watering for garden for my final project.
Can someone help me to solve my problem?
 

Hi,

If you are not using the pic as an interval timer for the watering, what are you intending to use as the controlling source ?
 

yes what yuor idea to measure flow are you have sesore or counter

misunderstood here..
actually the PIC is using to control the water flow an act as a timer
