stepper motor rating?

If a stepper motor specs says 1.95Nm , 1.8 deg , 4.7 Amp/phase then does it mean that it will consume 9 amp current for a bipolar motor running on ful torque...?

stepper motor rating?

No it means it consumes 4,7 amp for single phase or single step,

you need to provide 4,7 amp, if you want to move stepper for 1.8 degree with full torque(1.95Nm).

stepper motor rating?

please clarify the sentence" single phase or single step" these are two different things.

its change as your control sys for stepper but generalley dont deferent
phase stepper motor curent is constant and dont change with change control sys
step of stepper motor curent maybe increase if your control sys use more than phase in same time to make step

The 4.7amp/phase is a also maximum current draw of the stepper motor per coil at the specify voltage supply when the motor is fully stall, The driver must able to withstand this current or you must limit the current to the motor.
