magnetic flux is a scalar quantity.

In my opinion, the λR, λo, and λs in the figure below are magnetic fluxes. It looks to me that in the figure, magnetic flux is a vector quantity. I'm confused. Kindly advise. Is it correct to write the resultant flux equation in such a way (i.e. like a "vector" equation)? Kindly advise. Thanks. Or, are they phasor (phase vector) in this case?
