use of solid state relay

How to use solid state relays in circuit for switching on/off a DC power supply.
Does it need any protection diode?Im planning to use DO061A in my deign which is controlled by 3.3VDC control signal for switching on a DC supply of 12V to my load.

Re: use of solid state relay

Hi

It is mostly depend on the solid state drive circuit for some it is just the LED part of an optocupler and for some circuit it is a led with a current source

Basically add a small resistor in series with + control input of the SSRELAY

All the best

use of solid state relay

Hi Aloysius,
If you dont need more as 1.5KV rms AC isolation & your Iload =< 0.12A than you can apply Opto Mos relay too , their price is only ca. 1/3-1/4 of the Crydoms...
