ICSP connections

hi all,

i have a JDM 2 based programmer wich provides 5 Icsp signals for programming..
vpp - MClr - 15v, vdd, gnd, pgd, pgc...
i succesfully program sm pic like 16f628a,f84a etc
but i dunno how to make use of the icsp in circuit...
coz wen i tried programming smtimes the software would detect the ic smtimes not...also wen i read the pic the data read was improper...
pls suggest how to make propr use of the icsp signals...
i want to construct basic pic circuit on breadboard and start Nigels tutorial...
thanx

If you want to move on to bigger chips then I would strongly suggest you look at building a Pickit2 Lite as featured many times in this forum .
